Tucked away in the stunning landscape of Windermere, Cumbria, one of our latest projects is a perfect example of how thoughtful design, collaboration, and high-quality materials come together to create something truly special.
This project began at our Kendal showroom, where the clients visited us with their architect’s original plans in hand and a carefully curated mood board of ideas and inspiration. Being involved from the very start of the renovation — from those early technical drawings to the final styling touches — is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do at Lakeland Kitchens.
A Kitchen with Character
The centrepiece of this home is a LEICHT German kitchen, finished in Brasilia Concrete — a striking, hand-finished surface that makes every door unique. This textured finish adds depth and natural character, creating a focal point that feels both modern and timeless.
To complement the concrete tones, we introduced natural wood veneer panelling, which beautifully connects the two main sections of the kitchen while enhancing the flow between the kitchen and living spaces. This combination of materials gives the kitchen warmth, structure, and an unmistakably bespoke quality
Sleek, Durable Surfaces
For the worksurfaces, our client chose 12mm Dekton in the Sirius finish — a sophisticated black tone with subtle movement. As well as being visually sleek, Dekton is known for its durability, stain resistance, and heat tolerance, making it the perfect match for a busy family kitchen that doesn’t compromise on style.
From Mood Board to Reality
Every kitchen we design is unique, and this one came with a particularly exciting challenge — to bring our client’s full “dream wishlist” to life. They had spent time gathering inspiration and knew exactly the kind of features and atmosphere they wanted to create.
Through close collaboration and expert design, we managed to deliver every detail — combining practicality with visual impact, and blending the client's personal style with our knowledge of space, materials and layout.
