If you’ve decided to completely redesign your kitchen, we’re confident that you will have a few questions for your design and construction team.
This is completely normal; in fact, we expect to be asked questions! Having queries about such a huge change to your home shows that you are thinking long and hard about the transformation and how it will affect you and your home environment.
As specialists in creating bespoke kitchens in Kendal, we are asked multiple questions about kitchen remodels each time we take on a kitchen orientated project. Here are the 3 most frequently asked questions that we are presented with!
How Long Will It Take?
We understand that you are eager to have your luxurious new kitchen finished as soon as possible, but the time that it will take to complete it will depend on the amount of work that you require.
If you only want smaller adaptations such as new cabinets or a slight shift around of layout, you might only be expected to have to wait a few weeks until the project is done.
However, if your project is on a bigger scale and you are looking to have a full kitchen fit out with bespoke features and furniture, don’t be surprised if it takes several months to be complete.
Usually, we will let you know how long it will take to complete your kitchen before going ahead with the project. We will base the timeframe off how much work your kitchen will need, as well as working with our own availability.
Do I Need a Budget?
We would definitely recommend that you have an estimate of how much you’d like to spend in mind before coming to us.
Not only will this give us some idea of how much you are willing to spend on the project, it will also give us some indication of the extent of the project you have in mind.
There are many different aspects of a kitchen redesign, so it’s important to understand what you will be spending your money on in order to come up with a reasonable budget to stick to. Do you want brand new appliances or will you use your existing ones in your new design? Will you be doing some of the work yourself or will you leave it all to the contractors? If so, have you factored in labour charges?
Set yourself a realistic budget after factoring in all the changes you want to make and the work that will need to be done; we guarantee that you’ll have a clearer idea of the whole project after doing so!
What Will I Spend the Most Money On?
This question usually comes up after being asked about the budget, and understandably so.
In order to budget effectively, it’s good to know what you will need to spend the most on. In most cases, you can expect to pay out the most on permanent, long-lasting features such as fixed cabinets and solid countertops, simply because they are seen as an investment that will last you a very long time.
Ask your designers how much they predict these essential features will cost and begin budgeting with the price in mind.
Although these are 3 of the most common questions we get asked, there are others that we come across quite frequently, too.
